Aquarium Musee Roscoff
[FRANCE] The Aquarium Charles Pérez, part integral of the Biological Station of Roscoff, was started in 1938 with Charles Pérez then direct of the Station and completed in 1949.
The Aquarium presents more than one hundred to you of species belonging, for the majority of them, with fauna and the flora local: lines, dogfish, hippocampi, turbots, octopuses, lobsters, sea urchins, gorgones, corals... The animals are distributed in 33 vats of which a panoramic aquarium of 11m3. The species are collected with the strike or are fished by the sailors of the Station.
The Aquarium is a sample representative of the extremes richness and diversity of colors and forms of the Sleeve. You will find thus during your walks with low tide, at the time of your divings or on the stall of the fishmonger a great number of the species present at the Aquarium.
The higher stage of the Aquarium, arranged in museum, accomodates an exposure conceived by the City of Sciences and the Industry of the Villette "Glances on the Littoral" accompanied by a series of small video films in scientific matter on the cycle of the tides, the living conditions in the zone of swinging of the tides and the richnesses which the man can draw of the sea.
