The Angelfish Society
The Angelfish Society is a new organization, dedicated to the enhancement of the
Angelfish through high quality breeding programs using standards established by
the society. Defining these standards will be the initial focus of the society.
It is our hope that these standards will help to avoid the widespread use of "cute"
or "catchy" names for Angelfish phenotypes which seem to proliferate in the names
of other species, and serve only to confuse the novice Angelfish enthusiast. We
will also be focused on setting standards for identifying the genotypes of the
Angelfish we breed and keep, and the genetic notations used to describe them.

only active catfish group in the country. The monthly meetings have always been
held in Wigan in the northwest of England but with the membership growing and
a fair number of the members being located outside of this area, it was felt in
1996 that the group would further benefit with a name change to a body that would
identity itself as the main Catfish Group in the U.K. Thus it was decided that
the new millennium would herald a new fresh beginning and so was born the Catfish
Study Group (UK).
